Our sod installation is a quick way to a beautiful lawn
Sod is a quick, versatile way to create a beautiful lawn. We'll make sure the surface of your soil is smooth and has the appropriate grading before installing your sod. We'll also treat your new sod to starter fertilizer. Once installed, we'll make sure your new sod gets the recommended amount of water to help protect it from drying out. After about a week or two, we'll set your irrigation system back to its normal schedule once your sod has sufficiently established itself into the soil. preparation is the foundation of our sod installation
Sod is a great way to quickly install a beautiful, green lawn, but your sod will only be as good as the soil underneath it. Before laying down your new sod, we'll remove any grass present in your lawn. Then, if your lawn needs to be graded, we will grade it away from your home or building so water will flow away from the foundation. Once the grading has been completed, we'll do one final preparation for sod by raking your soil, ensuring your soil will be nice and smooth.
We will install your sod and then apply a starter fertilizer
Once your soil is ready, we will install the sod. Sod is known as an instant lawn because it quickly gives your property a spread of beautiful, green grass. As the saying goes though, beauty is only skin deep at this point. Your sod will need some time to grow a sufficient root system to firmly attach it to your soil. That is why, once we've laid down your new sod, we'll apply a starter fertilizer. Our starter fertilizer will give your new lawn the nutrients it needs and will promote vigorous root growth to help it get established.
Our starter fertilizer is chalked full of essential nutrients including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
Protect your new sod with frequent watering
Your newly-installed sod needs to be kept moist until it is able to develop roots down into the soil. Not only will your new sod need to be watered immediately following our sod installation. It will also need to be watered frequently for the next couple of weeks to help promote root growth and protect it from drying out. We'll adjust your irrigation system to provide the necessary amount of water through this critical time. We'll return in about a week to check on your sod and see if it has begun sufficient root growth into the soil. Once your sod is growing nicely and its roots have begun reaching down into the soil, we can adjust your irrigation system back to a normal watering schedule.
